Assessment of Water Supply Infrastructure
Project Overview
The project involved assessing the functionality of tap connections in rural households by conducting detailed telephonic surveys with district administrative officers responsible for water supply. The primary aim was to verify that every rural household had access to reliable tap water connections as envisioned by the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Our Contribution & Impact
To facilitate effective monitoring, districts were categorized into five groups based on the proportion of households with functional tap connections reported in the Jal Jeevan Mission-IMIS database. This classification helped identify gaps and prioritize interventions to improve water supply infrastructure in rural areas.
Our efforts contributed towards ensuring that the government’s vision of universal and functional household tap connections translated into tangible, on-the-ground outcomes, enhancing water accessibility and overall quality of life for rural residents.
